What is KISSKI?    🔗

Who may book a service?    🔗

The consulting and development services are available to all interested persons, companies and institutions.

The infrastructure services are only available to companies and institutions, but not to private individuals. If it becomes apparent that a project requires intensive use of resources, the evaluation panel of KISSKI decides to what extent the use can be granted.

Any service-specific requirements for the users are listed with the respective service.

What fees are charged for using the services?    🔗

According to the KISSKI Terms of Use, the services are available to users free of charge within the frame of pilot projects.

Do I need to register in order to book a service?    🔗

An AcademicID is required to book the services. There are two options:

1. Federated Login

Most universities and larger research institutions in Germany already participate in the authentication and authorisation infrastructure (AAI) of the DFN (Association for the Promotion of a German Research Network) - in this case, you can log in using the "Federated Login" with your institution's access data. federated login

2. First-Time Registration

If you do not have an AcademicID and federated login is not possible, you can create an AcademicID during the booking process. sign up

What happens when I click on 'Book'?    🔗

  1. When you click on “Book”, you first need to log in with your AcademicID.
  2. Once you have logged in, an enquiry form will open asking for details of how you plan to use the service.
  3. At the end of the form, you need to accept the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
  4. Click on “Send enquiry” to send the filled in form to our ticketing system. You will receive a confirmation email that your request has been received.
  5. Your request will be checked internally.
  6. You will receive feedback from your responsible KISSKI contact about the further procedure.
Should I get in touch with the contact person before booking?    🔗

If you are not sure whether the service fits your needs or if you have service-specific questions, you can get in touch with the contact person before booking. Click on the name of the contact person to open a new email in your mail programme.
To what extent does KISSKI provide personnel resources?    🔗

Personnel resources amounting to 1 week (40 working hours) per project are made available for consultancy services. For development services, 1 person-month is available.
How much time do I need to invest as a customer?    🔗

The services are provided in close collaboration with the clients. For this purpose, a contact person must be available on the client side. Depending on the service, intensive cooperation and corresponding time resources are required.

According to the KISSKI Terms of Use, users are obliged to submit a short written report on the use of the application.


Training

Who may book a training?    🔗

The training programme can be booked by all interested persons.
Is the training programme free of charge?    🔗

Participation in the training offered directly by KISSKI is free of charge.

Training courses from the regular training programme of the consortium partners are partly subject to a fee.
