Göttingen University information days for prospective students
KISSKI and the GWDG took part in the information days of the University of Göttingen on March 11 and 12, 2024.
The central exhibit of our stand was the AI chatbot “Mira”, which is hosted on the GWDG servers via KISSKI resources. Thanks to this computing capacity, Mira can answer questions about itself, its studies, the university and the GWDG in real time. Questions can be asked not only via chat, but also by voice input, and the answers can be heard via Mira’s AI-generated voice. During the voice output, a 3D model can be seen that synchronizes the lip movements.
Mira’s interactive possibilities attracted a lot of attention and offered many starting points for discussions. We were able to get in touch with numerous potential students. We drew attention to the Applied Computer Science course and explained the opportunities for research work that can be carried out at the GWDG and as part of KISSKI. Interested parties were informed about GWDG services, such as the new LLM Chat Service.
Over the course of the two days, Mira succeeded in arising the interest of many visitors for the possibilities of AI research in Göttingen.
