KISSKI at the IdeenExpo in Hanover
From June 8 - 16, 2024, the IdeenExpo in Hanover once again provided a great platform to get young people interested in STEM subjects.
KISSKI was represented together with the Campus Institute Data Science (CIDAS) and the GWDG at the stand of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The three partners informed visitors about the exciting world of data science and artificial intelligence (AI).
Several fascinating exhibits provided a vivid introduction to the latest developments in AI and their practical applications.
Silly Tavern
“Silly Tavern” is a generative language model with AI that can be used for direct conversation. This direct interaction offered visitors an impressive insight into the possibilities of modern language models.
Menace
At “Menace”, visitors were able to play the classic game of tic-tac-toe against the “matchbox computer” Menace. Menace learned something new with every game. This playful challenge demonstrated very clearly how reinforcement learning works.
FawnRescue
The “FawnRescue” project was developed by computer science students at the university. This is a drone technology that recognizes fawns in fields and thus saves them from agricultural machinery such as combine harvesters.
Neura
“Neura”, a neural network that recognizes objects from drawings, was also a major attraction. Visitors were able to draw their own pictures and experience how the AI analyzed and recognized them. The insight into how the neural network works, which was visualized by LED lights, was particularly fascinating. These showed what happens in the background of the AI and how the recognition works.
We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and look forward to more exciting encounters and discussions at future events.
